Is Jaïlavera a secessionist project in relation to France?
No, we are a micronation, a small nation which wants to be an entity independent of any other sovereign state, but which is not recognized by any government or international organization, under the jurisdiction of the French State.
How to become a citizen of your nation?
You can complete our online application form, to gain Jailaveran citizenship. We encourage the active participation of our citizens, but it is not compulsory. We also have vacancies, but you don't have to apply for them.
How to maintain diplomatic relations with your nation?
As a sovereign nation, and an internationalist entity, Jailavera exercises its right to interact with other nations of the world. We welcome the friendship of peoples, a great socialist value which we consider important. For more information seethe article on our site on Foreign Affairs.
Can I visit the Jaïlavera? How to get a visa?
Currently, we do not yet have stable structures in order to welcome you properly. Visits subject to availability from the authorities. Regarding the visa, we are not able to provide you with one to enter France.
Will I have access to a passport?
No ! Many micronations offer high quality documents that look professional, but often find themselves victims of criminal activity when these passports are wrongfully sold to refugees who mistake them for genuine passports giving them access to 'Europe. Worse still, there are “micronations” who themselves seek to exploit refugees by selling them these false documents and inviting them to reside on their non-existent territory. We believe that it is cruel to give false hope to these people who are already in the greatest precariousness. Moreover, in the case of Jaïlavera, the only passport of the President of the Republic was so expensive to produce that one can say that "the Pandemic of COVID-19 finished it". Thus, we no longer give passports to our citizens and reject any application for citizenship based solely on the request to obtain them. On the other hand, you will be able to benefit from identity cards, which will eventually be membership cards for the future association.
What are the other official languages?
Esperanto and Occitan/Provençal.
